When trying to create a new password, what comes to mind? Are you thinking of using a word you can remember with a 1 at the end such as Mountain1 or perhaps your favorite superheroes name with a capital letter. Well I can tell you that there are a few things to keep in mind when creating a good and memorable password.
First is the password needs to be complex enough so that it will not be easily guessed. These are my picks for what would make the password more complex:
Try using longer words such as a word that is at least 6 characters.
Try using multiple words such as using Mountain and River.
Try using capital letters at the start of words such as JamesMan.
Try using numbers and symbols in the passwords such as J1m&J1ll.
Try replacing letters in a word to numbers such as instead of an i you use a 1.
Now when creating a password you also have memorability to think about. If you create an extremely difficult to remember password then you will end up just forgetting the password. You have to make a password both complex and memorable. Here are some options for making the password more memorable:
Use numbers that mean something to you, maybe a lucky number, an amazing day you had.
Use a symbol that has some meaning or interest to you such as the dollar symbol.
Use words that you can remember, perhaps a friends name or a family pets name.
Now with both of those in mind lets take some of those ideas and create some interesting passwords:
Memorable, Long, and Strong: J1m&J1llHaveAHouse1!
Memorable, Mid Length, and Strong: H0peF0rThebest1!
Short and Strong: C001Y0da1$
As you can see with these passwords I have used many of the tips I have outlined to create these.
So as a last example I will take a character name: Indiana Jones, a number: 21, as well as a symbol: $.
Then I can create the following password: 1nd1anaJones21$
What I did was replace the letter i with the number 1, then I just added the words, numbers, and symbols together.
I appreciate those of you who were able to read my post here and if you want I can talk with you more about passwords and other Cyber Security things. Hope you all have a great day and happy password making to you all.
